“Magai,  how can I be normal?” Her  first sentence when Sabrina -my 13 yo- enter my room after school.

“What do you mean kakak?”

“You know Magai, NORMAL like other girls in my school. They do gossiping, talked about boys, talk about fashion, you know girls stuff. I dont feel belongs Magai,  they read novel while I read sirah. They talked about boys, while I talk about al-fathih. They talked about fashion and suprrised thay I choosed jilbab over pants.  I dont get them like they dont get me, Magai. So mamaaaaa they said I’m weird.”

I can see Sabrina is very upset with this situation. I know at her age having lots of friends is the most valuable thing in her life. Feeling belongs is matters.

I tried to remind her about Rasulullah’s (peace be upon him) situation in her sirah’s book.  Didn’t people of Quraish gave him a title of al-amin that means the one who can be trusted. What happend after Muhammad became a prophet? Every one who trusted him was against him and said that he is a big liar and a sorcerer.

“With Al-fathih, can you imagine at the age of 21 he can conquer Constantinople. Do you think he had time for a chit chat with a friend?”

So love, you are not normal and you will never be normal (in that term) because you are special. You are a leader you are born to be a great leader and you will be a part of the rising of a great Khalifah. Your level of thinking is brilliant. Its not shallow, its not deep, but its BRILLIANT.

So my dearest Sabrina dont be upset, if now you havent find any “good” friend and the girls in school can not catch up with your thinking, its ok my love, its ok to be different as long as you are in the path of Allah. You are normal in the eyes of Allah bare that in mind sayang.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said: “The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the seller of musk, and the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows (respectively). So as for the seller of musk then either he will grant you some, or you buy some from him, or at least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows then either he will burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him.” [Bukhari & Muslim]

So my dear sweet girl be the best musk you will ever be, spread your thoughts with your friends and make them have the same pleasant smell as you are. That is what we call Da’wah my dear.
